Freed.in is rescheduled this year in Feb, earlier it used to take place in September. Though the month of Feb is short, but it is full of freedom, with many open source events scheduled in this month. I missed the Open Source India Week but will surely attend freed.in. This year it will be more better, as i find more interesting talks and workshops in freed.in '08. So catch you at freed.

Do you want a pink slip?

With almost every one entering the juicy IT sector, it seems that there will be a flow of pink slips. But what is this pink slip? It simply dictates that you are fired. Think what would be the situation, with a pink slip in your hand and tensions roaring in your mind. The thing that pushed me to hit keys on my keyboard, is that IT giants like TCS and IBM showing doors to their employees. IBM lays off 700 and TCS kisses 500 figure, more to fall in list are DELL and Yahoo. Yahoo plans to shed 1000. The cited reason for this is, employees failing to meet the standards of the company and also are fired for disciplinary reasons. It is a big thing, it is not easier to survive in this booming industry, and it could be that I or you standing with a pink slip in hand and thinking what to do, it's better to think now than to think when it's late. Next week i have sessional tests in my college, and i find everyone (even me) fed up with these sessionals which come after a month or so, but what will happen when each and every day will be an examination day for us. This is a big question for people like me, that how will we get so disciplined and serious?

Editing Photos

It happens mostly in my leisure time, that i just open picasa, nowadays it's GIMP, with groovy tracks on xmms setting the mood, and i just go editing and refining pictures and my photos, i call it my hobby. I just enjoy doing it, sometimes i just go on editing the photos and increasing bytes of the image, and end in finding the right extensions to save them. Today i just logged in to my orkut account and thought that my profile photo needs to be changed, browsed to the folder "trip to bhopal" on my desk, found one snap of mine in goggles, but it wasn't good enough to be there on the profile page, not even in my "public" album, GIMP was the way to get it done, just 10 min. of hue level variations, additional effects and a bit of intelligent scissors gave me satisfaction. Oh thats need to be uploaded..... Crop it... update profile .

This is one of my favorite songs, actually the first & main reason is the lyrics, and second is Akon - The Best Rapper, really well sung. Actually i was just looking this video on youtube, and was shocked by seeing the number of views of this video, it was mammoth 10,364,055, oh i realized that it is really one of Akon's best. As the embed code of this video was not available there, so i simply added the same video by some other user.
