Airtel Broadband


Configuring Beetel 220BXI ADSL2+ MODEM

with a Linux box

Configure the modem in pppoe mode


  • Type 192.168.1.1(this is gateway i.e. modem) in the bowser's URL

  • enter the username and password

Username : admin
Password : password



now the beetel page will open up

  • Click the WAN link given on the left side of the page

Configuration table comes up

  • Click the edit button

  • Enter the vpi and vci values

VPI : 1
VCI : 32


  • Click on next button
Select Connection type :

PPP over ethernet (PPPoE)

at the bottom on this page there is a drop down menu to select

ENCAPSULATION MODE
  • select LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING

  • cilck next button

Enter PPP Username and Password


PPP Username: (***********_dsl@airtelbroadband.in)
PPP password : **********
PPPoE Service Name : airtel
Authentication mode : AUTO

  • Click next button
Enable IGMP Multicast, and WAN Service
Enable IGMP Multicast (do not select this)
Enable WAN Service (select this)
Service Name pppoe_1_32_1

  • Click next button
WAN Setup - Summary

  • Click on SAVE
Wide Area Network (WAN) Setup

  • Click SAVE/REBOOT
Modem will reboot and your modem is configured.


NETWORK CONFIGURATION
on the system

static ip: 192.168.1.2 -192.168.1.254 (ip range, enter any one)
subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
gateway ; 192.168.1.1

Add any one DNS


202.56.215.54, 202.56.215.55, 202.56.215.6, 202.56.230.6
